Alders Farm spring league Round 5

My team draws so far in this league have not been the best so we let Steve Waters have a go this round. Luckily for me, I got a good section peg (28 ash), Steve 4 ash, ok but should get beat by 1,2, and 30. Deany 22 pines, ok and Roger 2 pines err crap. » » Read More…

Spring League Alders Farm Round 4

The last two weekends have been spent at Alders farm on the spring league Round 4. I drew again for the team and again not a particularly good one. Nick Dean and Steve Waters went up on Pines lake, Roger Young and I down on the match lake. I probably had the best peg of the 4 which was peg 6 on ash lake, a good peg but should get smashed by 3 out and out flyers. » » Read More…

Spring League Round 3 – Alders Farm

It was back to alders farm for the 3rd round of the spring league having missed round 2 being away at White Acres on the Frenzee festival. I won’t go into too much detail about round 2 as the team had a bit of a disaster. Didn’t have a very good draw and had to use 2 fill-ins. » » Read More…

Dynamite Oakfield Fisheries – Summer League 2015

As the saying goes, “things can only get better” this has certainly been true in my case during the last couple of months. My results in April, May and June were nothing to shout about and I was getting frustrated to say the least. I fish the summer league at my local venue, Dynamite Oakfield Fisheries and usually do very well finishing in the top three at least. » » Read More…

Summer League Oakfield near Oxford – Happy Endings

Well the summer league has just finished at Oakfield near Oxford, and as has been the case all summer you just could not split Mr Thorpe and myself. As we finished joint top of the league with 400 points each. You get £100 for winning the league (which we split) but the real bonus is you fish a one off match called the Matchman final against the top 10 in the league, for some better prizes: £600 1st, £400 2nd, £200 3rd. » » Read More…

ONE OF THOSE DAYS! – Oakfield fisheries Oxford – 6th September

How many of us sit back at the end of a match and reflect on events and ask ourselves, is it bad angling, is it bad preparation, or are we just cursed sometimes. Take this weekend’s match as a prime example.  » » Read More…

Dynamite Baits Oakfield spring festival 24th & 25th May

Oakfield Fisheries was to host its annual spring bank holiday 2 day festival on may 24 and 25, and as its my local watering hole i just had to give it a whirl.

At 80 quid a dip it’s not cheap but the payouts are good if you’re one of the lucky ones. There were 36 anglers competing so makes for a decent match as well. » » Read More…
