Whites Springs Winter League Sunday 23rd March – 10 minutes a hero??

The final round was of the winter league arrived and normal service resumed. Gale force winds, bitter temperatures and for a change. rain!

There were more than a few squeaky bums at the draw and not from last nights beer either.

Points at the top of the table were now very tight. Adam Mitch the Bitch was still winning though. Mikey Williams, myself, John Harvey, Luke Sorokin and Andrew Crocker all hot on his heels. Finally some fine weather to wet the nets in. This Sunday was the penultimate match in a 6 match series at Whitesprings. The Whitesprings winter league 2014. White Springs near Swansea was the home for the day and the penultimate round of the individual winter league. Nigel ‘Doris’ Morris runs a great league and with most of the FSW team fishing as well as a few of the top regulars, the banter always flies. Great fun to fish and a hard task to win as the standard is high and the lads local so most boys know the place inside out.

My league is a tale of peaks and troughs this year as a couple of silly lost points in one match will mean even with a couple of wins, I just won’t cut it.. still, I’ve had a good win on match lake and caught a few most rounds so cant grumble as we’ve all had plenty of bites. » » Read More…

Larford Lakes Classic Qualifier/Open – 16th March 2014

Well back to my beloved Larford Lakes for the Sunday Open. God I have missed this place. The day was sunny and warm but there was quite a strong intermittent breeze.

First things first and had my brekkie and a bit of banter. Paid my pools and I was all ready to go. I always get there early so had plenty of time to ready my gear before the draw.

Final round of the Bait-Tech Pro Natural Winter League at Viaduct fishery

So the final round upon us and we lead by 19 points. More than a little nervous at the draw as although a comfortable margin it would only take a poor result and conversely a big score to wipe this out completely.

With both Frenzee teams assembled in the pub for the draw it was draw master Crocker to decide our fate.
