Sunday 21st June 2015 – Andy reports from Viaduct

Sunday saw the last round of the popular spring league series on Viaduct. Giles Cochrane was leading this with 4 points followed by Trigg (Craig Edmunds) also on 4 points – Giles was miles in front with a staggering weight count of nearly 1000lbs.. (that’s 4 matches remember) » » Read More…

Bait-Tech Viaduct Spring League Round 1!

I see this as a little bit of self-indulgence after a long hard winter. Temps on the up, fish feeding, whats not to like? 55 in attendance and believe me there are no mugs on this. A lot of the venue regulars and some of the South West’s finest accompanied by a band of merry Welshmen makes for a very close and hotly contested league. All of whom know the place well and make catching bags of fish look very easy. » » Read More…

First Round of the Bait Tech Viaduct Winter League

Bait-Tech Viaduct played host to the first round of the 19 team Pro Natural Winter league on Sunday 18th January.

In true Viaduct style its big residents were more than obliging for most and some incredible weights were caught to start this bitterly cold beginning of the league in style. With the weather proving difficult is was always going to be a tough affair and patient was the name of the game for maximising rewards. Those in the know however certainly made the most of it. » » Read More…

Andy Slab hunting continues…

A late evening slab hunt resulted in these two belters. Again, as before both un-weighed but the biggest was estimated to be that all important double I had been looking for with the second fish just under.. weight is immaterial really.. » » Read More…

Andy gets a new PB Bream

A short even session produced a new PB bream for Andy.. although not weighed as was deemed average for the lake (some real brutes in there). The bin lid estimated to be around 9lb was caught on traditional feeder tactics at 70 turns. » » Read More…

Andys Adventures – Moving and Fishing

After a lengthy lay off from writing I thought I better update you all on recent events. It’s been a very busy time but the long awaited move had finally arrived to push my stress levels sky high. Thankfully I had been adamant and managed to have a days fishing most weekends apart from move weekend.

I must quickly mention and thank all the lads who did some work on my house.. looks mint.. cheers boys! » » Read More…

Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun?

Been a while.. Been a tad busy.. been fishing though…

With a long break in between fish o qualifiers it was time to get a few Maver tickets booked. As well as this we have just started a spring league on Viaduct. This is a great league and with 55 fishing makes for nice matches.. especially when the weather is now better and the fish munching. » » Read More…

Andy on the bank and a fisho qualifier

So. it’s been a while since my last instalment. Apart from having my sodding phone taped to my head with work and non-existent plumbers leaving my little project grinding to a halt, I have actually managed a couple of days fishing.

Following on from a couple of brilliant winter leagues it was time to turn what little attention I could spare to Spring and the big event season that is about to start. There’s always a nice buzz around the match circuit  in spring as the weather breaks meaning less layers needed, the fish start feeding and the thought that I actually may get a bite for once. The prospect of a few fish and a chance to qualify for one of the big finals is always and exciting prospect and judging by most of the lads responses, it’s not just me who feels it. » » Read More…

Whites Springs Winter League Sunday 23rd March – 10 minutes a hero??

The final round was of the winter league arrived and normal service resumed. Gale force winds, bitter temperatures and for a change. rain!

There were more than a few squeaky bums at the draw and not from last nights beer either.

Points at the top of the table were now very tight. Adam Mitch the Bitch was still winning though. Mikey Williams, myself, John Harvey, Luke Sorokin and Andrew Crocker all hot on his heels. The draw would mean everything and with big whole lake sections, points could easily be dropped. » » Read More…

White Springs – Sunday 16th March 2014 – Andy reports…

White Springs near Swansea was the home for the day and the penultimate round of the individual winter league. Nigel ‘Doris’ Morris runs a great league and with most of the FSW team fishing as well as a few of the top regulars, the banter always flies. Great fun to fish and a hard task to win as the standard is high and the lads local so most boys know the place inside out.

My league is a tale of peaks and troughs this year as a couple of silly lost points in one match will mean even with a couple of wins, I just won’t cut it.. still, I’ve had a good win on match lake and caught a few most rounds so cant grumble as we’ve all had plenty of bites. » » Read More…
